Using Streamers in Five Different Ways
With just a roll of crepe paper streamers, some scissors, and some tape, you can turn any party into a festive celebration without breaking the bank.
-
1
Wrap the hula hoop with crepe paper by folding over the end of a roll. If you want the crepe paper to look right, you should let the end hang back from the streamer.
- Your canopy's focal point will be the hula hoop you've brought along. The hula hoop will have all the streamers strung around it.
-
2
Glue or staple the streamer's end to its own length. When a stapler is unavailable, tape can be used instead.

Crepe paper can be unrolled and trimmed to size. Each cable should stretch from the interior to an exterior wall. The streamer needs to be a few feet longer than this distance in order to drape gracefully. If you want to err on the side of caution, you can always make the streamer longer than necessary. The streamer's draping can be adjusted in this way. It can always be shortened in the future.
- You can use a ruler to determine the exact length, but you might have more success using a single streamer as a guide. Crepe paper should be unrolled with a friend's assistance from the room's center to a far wall. Make any necessary alterations to the streamer's draping before finally cutting it. Take a cue from this flyer.
-
4
Repeat Keep wrapping your hula hoop in streamers until it's completely covered. Occasionally, the streamers will overlap. Streamers can be arranged into a pattern or attached in a haphazard fashion using the various colors of crepe paper.
-
5
A hula hoop should be hung from the middle of the ceiling. If you want to attach something to the ceiling, you have to measure the ceiling first. The simplest way to mount a hula hoop is by tethering it to an existing ceiling or wall mount. Make do with what you have or think of something else if these avenues are closed to you. The hula hoop can also be suspended from the ceiling by means of a hook.- When displaying a hula hoop, the staples holding the streamers in place should point upward.
- Don't want your guests to see the string? Wrap it in fishing paper.
-
6
Fasten the banners to the outside of the room's walls or ceiling. Gradually lead each streamer to the room's perimeter. Tack the streamer to an exterior wall or ceiling after adjusting its draping. And so on, until all the streamers are strung from floor to ceiling. After they're done, the ceiling will be obscured by streamers.
EXPERT TIP
Streamers brighten up any DIY or laid-back celebration. In contrast, you may want to choose something else if you're hosting a high-class affair.

Find out how big of a backdrop you need. You should measure the length and width of the backdrop before putting it together. To determine the size of the backdrop, use a piece of tape, chalk, or a pencil. [1]
- The size of the backdrop is completely up to you and is determined by the available space and your camera's capabilities. Consider whether you'd like to capture full-body shots or if you'd prefer headshots. To what height do your visitors average? You can only fit so many people into a single photo.
-
2
Stick a piece of masking tape to the wall, adhesive side up. Sticky side out, run a strip of masking tape along the top of your backdrop's four corners. Tape each end with a piece of masking tape to keep it in place on the wall.
- Streamers will be attached to the tape via the adhesive side. [2]
-
3
Decorate the tape with streamers. Tie balloons and streamers to the masking tape in a left-to-right fashion. Straightly cut each streamer after it has been rolled out to the desired length. Layer the streamers slightly and change the colors as you move from one corner of the backdrop to the next.
- You don't need to worry about making all of the streamers the same length. You are planning to cut them down in the future. [3]
-
4
Using crepe paper, cover the top edge. Tape rolled pieces of masking tape to the upper edge of the backdrop. Straighten out a single streamer and roll it along the top edge of the backdrop. In the same way, protect the two short vertical tape pieces at both ends.
- As a result, the top of your backdrop will have a neat, finished look. [4]
-
5
Mount the streamers to the floor by taping their bases to the wall. Tape the sticky side of a piece of masking tape across the base of your backdrop. Clearly, you need to tape both ends to the wall. Your streamers won't budge with this tape on them. [5]
- Don't tape the streamers to the wall if you want them to sway in the wind. This will give you a setting that is less rigid and, potentially, more whimsical.
-
6
Cut the streamers so that they are flush with the bottom of the tape Cut each streamer off close to the tape's base with a pair of scissors. You don't need to worry about cutting each streamer to exact length because you'll be using them to cover the floor. [6]
-
7
Crepe paper should be used to cover the bottom edge. Secure your backdrop to the floor by taping several rolls of masking tape together at the base. Straighten out a single streamer by rolling it along the taped edge. When you are finished with the backdrop, you will have a rectangular or square sheet of crepe paper against which to take your pictures. [7]
- If you want the bottom to match the top, you can do so by adding two small vertical streamers to each corner.

1
Drape the entire venue in streamers. Streamers are simple to mount, and all you need is some Scotch tape and a flat surface. To decorate a doorway or window, suspend a string of streamers across the top. Alternatively, you could drape streamers down the front or back of a table or chair.
-
2
Wrap the room in streamers. Attach the taped end of the streamer to a flat surface (a tabletop or a wall, for example). Pass the streamer across the top of the surface haphazardly. Tape the streamer down at regular intervals to form a "U" shape as you go.
-
3
Cover a railing or banister with streamers. Attach the streamer's taped end to the railing or banister. Cover the entire length of the banister or railing with the streamer and wrap it tightly. Tape the finished end of the streamer to the wall after cutting it from the roll. [8]

Streamers, please double up If you want to add more color to the room, hang two streamers at once instead of just one. Achieve this by picking out two streamers of contrasting colors.
-
2
Streamers can be layered. Tape the two ends of the streamers together after placing them on top of each other. Cut the length of each streamer as needed after rolling it out.
-
3
Join the two ends and make sure they stay that way. Attach a staple to each end of the stacked streamers. You can tape the two streamers together in place of a stapler.
-
4
Put up the banners Layered streamers should have one end affixed to a flat surface. Twist the streamers as you walk to the other attachment point to add some visual interest. The other end should be fastened to something stable.
- One must twist the streamers in order to see both colors. [9]

1
Streamer multiple 12 inch (30 cm) lengths by folding it over on itself. (Approximately 48 Inches in Height) You can now quickly and easily fringe the entire length of the streamer. Fold the streamer until it is the desired length, then cut it from the roll.
-
2
Tie a knot in the ends of your streamers. Create a pattern of cuts along the two long edges of the folded streamer with a pair of scissors. Stop the scissors just short of the center of the streamer at all times to prevent severing it. When you're done, the streamer's edges will be fringed with festive, thin ribbons.
- Common streamers have a width of 1 A length of 4.75 inches (75 width of 45 cm The ideal length for your fringe is.5 inches (1.27 cm).
-
3
Roll out the banner When you open up the streamer, you'll notice that it has two fringes that run in a straight line. Don't worry about ripping the crepe paper, but handle it with care.
-
4
Affix the tattered banner to the ceiling. Stick a piece of tape on the end of the streamer and attach it to the desired location. Twisting the crepe paper as you go, walk the streamer to the other end. Wrap the remaining portion of the streamer around an additional object. Any celebration can benefit from the addition of these fringed streamers. [10]

Question
When decorating with twists, how many feet of streamers would you recommend?
How much you spend on decorations is proportional to the size of the room. Take a tape measure and multiply that number by 1 to get the total distance you'll need to hang the streamers. 5
-
Question
Do streamers eventually droop after being hung for a while?
In humid climates, this is often the case.
-
Question
Is there a limit to the number of times the streamers can be doubled?
Not likely The middle strip, sandwiched by the other two, will be out of sight.
