Macrame Ghosts
Create adorable ghosts in no time. Start by painting embroidery hoops with black paint and let them dry. Cut several equal lengths of macrame cord, about 50 inches long (you will need 12-14 pieces of cord per hoop).
Follow the instructions below for simple knots or create your own:
- Lark’s Head Knot: Hold two pieces of cord together and fold them in half. Wrap the folded half around the embroidery hoop and pull all four tails through the loop. Pull tight to secure. Repeat around the top of the hoop.
- Square Knot: Start by creating Lark’s Head knots with one cord each across the top of the hoop. Starting with the leftmost piece, wrap it over the next two cords to the right. Then take the fourth cord and wrap it behind the previous two cords on the left, tucking it through the space between the first two cords. Pull to tighten. Continue across the embroidery hoop.

Crescent Flower Wreath
Add your leaf bats to this wreath in October, and then remove them in November, but keep the autumnal wreath up. Start with long, skinny grass on the two ends of the crescent shape to mark the ends. Use hot glue to secure them in place. Fill the middle of the wreath with a mix of dried flowers and grass, making sure to add more grass and long, skinny shapes between the flowers for balance. Use hot glue to attach each item and ensure it's secure. Finish the wreath by attaching a ribbon at the top, or simply hang it on a hook on your door or wall.

DIY Bug Art Display
Mike GartenDownload and print our Halloween bugs and ID tags artwork onto cardstock. Carefully cut out the bug shapes and tags using scissors, and fold the bugs at the joints to create dimension (you can use a bone folder for crisp edges, or the back of a scissor or an old pen with no ink). Use a glue stick or glue dots to attach the bugs to the backing of various shadowbox frames (we lined our frames with white paper for consistency). Glue the ID tags and hang your creepy crawlies using Command strips. Add additional bugs that have "escaped" to the outside of the frames and the wall using removable glue dots.

Blood Drip Table Decor
Mike GartenSpooky and elegant, you can create the dripping "blood" effect using red sealing wax sticks (specifically for glue guns) or red hot glue sticks.
Directions: Set your glue gun to a medium heat setting. Insert a wax or glue stick into the glue gun and let it warm up for approximately 5 minutes. Turn a clean glass upside down and slowly run the glue gun around the edge of the glass, allowing the glue to drip down the sides (adjust the heat if the glue doesn't flow smoothly). Let it dry. Increase the glue gun heat to the highest setting and fill the bottom of the glass with a pool of glue to fill any gaps. Allow it to dry completely before turning the glass right side up. If you want to remove the design after Halloween or if you make a mistake, simply peel off the glue! This technique can also be used on non-porous surfaces like metal candle holders and serving utensils.
