While the initial cost may seem high, the refills for the standard size candle are priced at only £27.50.

I had the opportunity to try out the spring limited edition Daisy Candle, which came with a jardin candle inside. Its top notes consist of sage and lime, while the base note is cut grass. For me, the scent of freshly cut grass truly epitomizes spring, so I absolutely adore this fresh aroma.

At a price of £30, this candle offers great value considering it includes a reusable clay pot. It features a delightful blend of rose tonka and musk, exuding a floral scent without being overwhelming. Additionally, the top notes consist of bergamot and pepper.

It promises to transport you to the charm of an early morning in Morocco. Although I've never been there myself, I can attest that it fills my bedroom in Britain with the captivating fragrance of flowers and stems. Furthermore, I plan to repurpose the pot for propagating a houseplant once the candle is fully burned.

Neom's Feel Refreshed candle is probably the most citrusy option on our list. Part of its wellbeing line, this candle is specifically designed to evoke different emotions, including energy and invigoration. 

I'm usually skeptical about such claims, but the crisp scent of Sicilian lemon in this candle is incredibly refreshing and clean, making it seem to accomplish its intended effect. It is balanced by a subtle hint of sweet basil, preventing the scent from becoming overly sharp. Moreover, this candle is entirely natural and free from harsh chemicals.

Our favorite feature: The fact that the pot can be repurposed as a coffee mug after burning.

Keep Candles specializes in all-natural candles that can be repurposed as homeware once burned. Their range includes four different scents, and I chose the lime and lavender option in a classic mug candle. The ceramic pot has a charming freckled design and feels like a high-quality piece. The scent is calming with a refreshing touch of lime, easily filling the room and making it ideal for unwinding at the end of a long day. I'm eagerly looking forward to using the pot as a coffee mug once I finish burning the entire candle.

Liberty's Hera candle has rightfully won numerous awards. Its scent evokes the ambiance of a smoky drawing room filled with elegant guests, reminiscent of the kind of party Oscar Wilde (a frequent shopper at Liberty) might have hosted. There's a certain nostalgic emotion attached to this fragrance, which I find truly captivating. The key notes consist of rose, woodland moss, and golden amber, conveniently listed on the frosted glass jar for easy reference.

Its burn time is an impressive 50 hours, offering excellent value compared to other candles we tested. The Woodland Blossom and Wild Fig scent is just one of the ten unique and enticing options in Hampton & Astley's range. Although this candle boasts an incredible room-filling scent, I also fell in love with their Pink Peony & Hyacinth variant, which is a brand new scent introduced for peony season.

The Garden Song Candle draws inspiration from the rooftop gardens of Fortnum & Mason's flagship store in Piccadilly. The primary scent is a blend of sweet orange and eucalyptus, accompanied by notes of pink grapefruit, coriander, lavender, and more. Although it may not be the strongest scent option, it definitely refreshes any room it is lit in. Additionally, the candle comes in a lovely pot that I plan to keep on my bedside table for storing trinkets.

Our favorite feature: The radiant citrus scent that isn't overpowering.

While it's delightful to have a scent that matches each season, sometimes you simply want a candle that burns well all year round. Molton Brown's Orange and Bergamot Candle is the perfect choice in such instances. Its blend of orange, mandarin, and neroli oils creates a fragrance reminiscent of orange trees, refreshing yet not too sharp to suit any time of the year. If you prefer a scent that is more specifically suited for summer, I also highly recommend Molton Brown's Rhubarb and Rose Scented Signature Candle (£42).
